What are the system requirements of Work Order Express?
Work Order Express will run on any 32-bit Windows operating system, including Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2008. Work Order Express will also run on most server networks. Work Order Express does not require a server and can be used on a single computer as long as there is access to the QuickBooks company file.

Work Order Express is compatible with the U.S. versions of QuickBooks Pro 2003 and above, Premiere 2003 and above, and Enterprise 2003 and above.

How do I install Work Order Express?

Can I set up Work Order Express to run on my existing network?
Yes. The MySQL database used to store the work order data created with the application can (but doesn’t have to be) be installed and stored on a network computer or server. The Work Order Express application should be installed on the client PC, and pointed to the database location using the “database settings” dialogue.
Why do I need to install the MySQL database?
Work Order Express uses its internal functionality to interface with Quickbooks, create and edit work orders, and to create a graphic representation of the shop load. These work orders are saved into a database so that they can be, retrieved, sorted, backed-up, and modified. Work Order Express uses a database known as MySQL to accomplish these tasks. MySQL is the world’s most popular open-source database largely due to its unparalleled reliability and ease of use.

Before installing the Work Order Express application, the installer included with your software will install the MySQL database software and the MySQL Administrator, which will be used to set up the first use of Work Order Express. The following instructions should walk you through the one-time installation of all of the required components.
Can I customize the printable work order form?
Work Order Express comes with an integrated work order form for use when printing. Form customization such as adding a logo, reformatting the size and position of text, etc. can be performed by our support team. Contact forms@WorkOrderExpress for more details.
Can I continue to use my current work order numbering system?
The first time you use Work Order Express, the work order number field will not contain a number. For companies already using a numbered work order system, this is your chance to input your own unique starting number. e.g. If the last work order created with your old system was 204027, you can enter 204028 as the first work order number in this field. After this first work order is saved, all subsequent work orders will be automatically numbered in logical order.
I’ve seen similar systems for sale at a much higher price. Why does your software only cost $249?

Is my QuickBooks company data safe with Work Order Express?
The QuickBooks data used to create work orders in Work Order Express is just as safe as the original QuickBooks data, as the safety protocol is shared between the two applications. The Work Order Express user must be logged into QuickBooks in order for the data to be active. Users cannot access sensitive company data that do not already have these access privileges assigned to their QuickBooks user account.
Can I purchase a hard copy of Work Order Express
Yes! Select the “add hard copy” option when purchasing Work Order Express to be mailed a CD-ROM. Extra charges may apply.
